SEFL Construction Manager

Location - Sebring, FL
Summary

Commence is looking for an enthusiastic professional to play a pivotal role in building quality homes in the Sebring area. This role requires a team player with excellent communication and a focus on quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and manage the oversight of quality-built homes from start through
  • Certificate of Occupancy on a timely and economical basis
  • Direct and monitor the progress of multiple homes in various stages of construction concurrently
  • Schedule subcontractors and manage the quality of construction, productivity and compliance with building and safety codes
  • Manage trade and vendor relationships in order to build homes on schedule
  • Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sites
  • Coordinate delivery and use of materials throughout the construction process
  • Complete homes and all customer walk-through items prior to turnover
  • Track and control construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overruns
  • Implement knowledge of construction methods, regulations, contracts and blueprint reading
Experience:
  • Prior experience with residential home building in the Ocala market is required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management or related degrees preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency required to communicate and schedule with vendors and trades
  • Knowledge of construction practices and terminology as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents are preferred
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Establish good working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds, inside and outside the company
  • Build and maintain customer relationships during the building process
  • Motivate building partners to perform at a high level of competency
  • Analyze and resolve problems that arise through the building process
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and persistence to get things done
  • Remain decisive, flexible and composed under pressure, when faced with unexpected situations or delays and in a very fast-paced environment
  • Act with a high degree of integrity
  • Meet established goals and deadlines with a strong attention to detail, time management, prioritization and organizational skills
